NSFAS Wallet For Receiving Allowance Explained
The NSFAS Wallet is a financial tool provided by the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) in South Africa. NSFAS is responsible for administering loans and bursaries to eligible South African students to help them finance their tertiary education. The NSFAS Wallet is designed to disburse funds directly to students, allowing them to use the money for various educational expenses like tuition fees, accommodation, textbooks, and other necessities.
The NSFAS Wallet operates similarly to a standard electronic wallet or prepaid card system. Once students receive financial aid from NSFAS, the funds are loaded onto their NSFAS Wallet accounts. They can then access these funds using a mobile phone or through designated NSFAS service points. The wallet allows for secure and convenient transactions, providing students with greater flexibility in managing their educational finances.
NSFAS Wallet Registered Account
- Once NSFAS creates your NSFAS Wallet account, you will receive a “Welcome” SMS prompting you to verify your account.
- It’s essential to always ensure you have access to the cell phone number you provided to NSFAS during your application. This number will be used for depositing your funds.
- If you need to withdraw cash, you can do so at any of our cash withdrawal merchants, including Checkers, Boxer, U-Save, and select Spar stores. Please note that these stores enforce daily cash withdrawal limits ranging from R200 to R1000 per day.
- There are no spending limits at registered stores, meaning you can use your cash wallet to make purchases up to its maximum value.
