Precision Air Hiring a Driver

When most people think of Precision Air, they picture aircraft connecting Tanzania’s towns and cities, or the sight of the familiar green and yellow planes lifting into the skies. But behind every smooth flight is a team of people on the ground who make the airline function—quiet professionals ensuring operations stay efficient, safe, and reliable. Among them is a role that often goes unnoticed but is absolutely vital: the Driver.

Precision Air is now inviting applications from qualified, disciplined, and committed drivers to join its team. This opportunity isn’t just about driving; it’s about supporting one of the country’s leading airlines and playing your part in keeping the aviation engine running.

Why This Role Matters

At first glance, being a driver may sound straightforward—after all, it’s about getting people or cargo from point A to B. However, at Precision Air, the job assumes greater significance. Drivers are at the heart of the airline’s ground operations.

They move staff safely to where they are needed most. They ensure that company vehicles are not only clean but also in top condition, with timely servicing and repairs. They help keep track of critical paperwork like insurance and traffic compliance, ensuring the airline never misses a legal requirement. In short, they are trusted to keep the company moving—literally.

What makes this role even more unique is its link to aviation logistics. Precision Air drivers don’t just handle vehicles; they also support cargo ramp operations, ensuring that equipment is functional and safe, and that loading and unloading processes follow strict industry regulations. A driver here is more than just a driver—they’re a vital part of the airline’s safety and service chain.

What You’ll Be Doing

If you join as a driver at Precision Air, your responsibilities will include:

  • Driving company vehicles for official assignments across different locations.

  • Ensuring vehicles are kept safe, clean, and roadworthy.

  • Monitoring and overseeing repairs, general servicing, and replacement of spare parts.

  • Advising management on the status of insurance cover, TLB, and other traffic documents.

  • Attending Drivers Committee meetings, where operational issues are discussed and improved.

  • Operating handling equipment, always checking its safety and serviceability before and after use.

  • Maintaining up-to-date certifications and licenses which are crucial in aviation operations.

  • Ensuring the safety and security of cargo ramp operations, always complying with aviation industry standards.

  • Creating a safe and healthy work environment for all personnel working in cargo ramp operations.

  • Supporting the organization in meeting all regulatory, customer, and local requirements.

  • Carrying out other tasks assigned by supervisors as part of a flexible and responsive team.

Every task contributes directly to the airline’s reputation for safety, reliability, and excellent service.

Who Precision Air Is Looking For

This isn’t just a job for anyone with a license—it requires commitment, discipline, and proven experience. To qualify, you’ll need:

  • A PSV Certificate from NIT or VETA.

  • At least Ordinary Level Secondary Education.

  • A valid driver’s license with Class C, C1, and C2 endorsements, plus a clean driving record.

  • A minimum of three years’ driving experience in a reputable organization.

  • Experience in the aviation field is a significant advantage, as the role directly ties into airline ground operations.

  • A good command of both English and Kiswahili is essential for communication across teams and regulatory environments.
