World Vision Hiring a Driver

For over 75 years, World Vision has been dedicated to helping the world’s most vulnerable children overcome poverty and experience the fullness of life they deserve. Guided and inspired by our Christian faith, we work alongside communities to bring hope and practical solutions in even the most difficult places.
Today, World Vision has grown into a family of over 33,000 dedicated staff across nearly 100 countries. Every member of our team plays a crucial role in bringing lasting change to children and families, and we’re currently seeking a special individual to join us in this mission.
We are currently hiring a Driver, a role that may seem simple on the surface but is absolutely essential to the success of our programs. A driver at World Vision isn’t just someone who gets from point A to B—they are a trusted part of our operations, ensuring the safety of our staff, maintaining vehicles that carry life-changing resources, and ultimately helping us reach children and families in need.
What the Role Involves
The Driver will play a crucial role in supporting the organization’s day-to-day work. Some of the key responsibilities include:
-
Safe Transport – You’ll be responsible for driving vehicles on approved routes and ensuring the safety of passengers at all times. This means not only following traffic and organizational rules but also reminding others to prioritize safety while on the road.
-
Vehicle Care – Keeping our vehicles in good condition is vital. You will monitor service dates, report any mechanical issues promptly, and ensure the car is always clean and ready for use.
-
Documentation & Reporting – Accurate records matter. You’ll be expected to keep vehicle documents up to date, compile periodic reports, and make sure everything is filed properly.
-
Adherence to Safety Rules – We place a strong emphasis on road safety, and as a driver, you’ll model this by following all organizational and program road safety standards.
This position requires a reliable, attentive, and committed individual who is dedicated to helping us maintain smooth operations while we focus on transforming lives.
Who We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you should have:
-
At least two years of experience driving light or passenger vehicles.
-
A solid understanding of vehicle mechanics is a valuable asset.
-
Formal training from NIT, as well as ordinary secondary education and VETA training.
-
An active Class C driving license.
-
The ability to work in environments that include both smooth and rough roads.
-
Good physical fitness and fluency in both English and Swahili.
We are seeking someone who is not only skilled behind the wheel but also dependable, organized, and committed to World Vision’s mission.
Why This Role Matters
At World Vision, every role—whether in the field, in an office, or on the road—matters deeply. As a driver, you will be part of the unseen but critical support system that allows our programs to succeed. Your work will ensure that staff arrive safely, resources are delivered on time, and vehicles are reliable enough to take us where children need us most.
It may not always be glamorous, but it is deeply meaningful. Every journey you make helps push our mission forward—one safe trip at a time.
